first_imgThe male body that was found in a room of the K&VC Hotel in South Road, Georgetown on Wednesday afternoon has still not been identified.This is according to Police “A” Division Commander Leslie James during a telephone interview with Guyana Times on Thursday afternoon.Police “A” Division Commander, Leslie JamesIt was reported in sections of the media that at around 13:30hrs on Wednesday last, the unidentified man’s body was discovered by staff members of the hotel.This publication was told that the man, who appeared to be middle aged, had checked into the room on Tuesday, and had paid to utilise it for 24 hours.However, when that time expired at around noon the following day, the receptionist reportedly called on the guest but received no response.After other staff members knocked on the man’s room door, but received no response, the hotel’s manager granted the staff permission to enter the room.The elderly man’s lifeless body was found lying on the bed, clad in only a grey three-quarter pants. A white substance suspected to be poison was observed around the bed and on the floor near the man. The body bore no sign of violence, the Police say.The corpse was taken to the Lyken’s Funeral Home to await identification, after which an autopsy would be performed to determine the cause of death.last_img
